To maximize student achievement, we provide challenging educational experiences that are aligned to prescribed curriculum. We assist students to achieve their goals of schooling by setting and communicating high and consistent expectations. Excellence at Donnan takes on many forms. Academic growth is one of the most important gains we like to see in students. Each year we have demonstrated marked improvements in the Alberta Education achievement exams and we are consistently striving to do better. We also recognize that our students are unique individuals that learn at different rates and social, emotional growth is also an important goal of schooling. Learning is an active process and students must experience success along with their challenges.

At Donnan School we:

• provide increased instructional time devoted to learning in core subjects
• have a homework policy to emphasize the importance of assignment completion
• provide excellent communication of achievement through progress reports and interim "progress updates"
• provide tutorial support at noon and after dismissal on Thursday
